Forager

In this experiment, your task will be to lead your blue rabbit to eat as much grass as possible. The rabbit eat grass whenever you move over its location on the screen. You can move by pressing the four arrow keys to the right of your keyboard. You can move either up, down, left or right. If you hold down an arrow key, you will continue to move in that direction until you lift up your finger. The only keys you should press during the experiment are the four arrow keys.

The grass will appear in clumps, not completely at random. You will be able to collect more food if you can find the food clumps. The world is a large square field with a gray line designating the edges. You cannot move past these edges or through them to the opposite side. During each game, the computer keeps track of how much grass your rabbit has eaten and displays the number at the top of the screen. At the end of a game, you will be shown your collected points in comparison to the other players’ scores.

Note: If there aren’t enough human participants, the server will provide artificial intelligence agents, “bots”, to play with you. Bots are represented with metallic-looking rabbits. If there are other humans in the game, their rabbits will be brown.
